Welcome to the

Linda C. Gilbert, PhD

Non-Website

A gift of my lovely daughter-in-law Erika Keresztyen, intended to promote my name through the medium of the word wide web (www).

Unfortunately I have little to contribute that would be of much interest to the reader, or has not been expressed better by someone else. For instance, take a look at the bio following that was used at a recent conference.

“Linda C. Gilbert, Ph.D. is a 1989 graduate of the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles . Dr. Gilbert has trained with Habib Davanloo, M.D. in Montreal , and with Robert J. Neborsky, M.D. in Los Angeles . She has had many years of experience working with highly disturbed children and adolescents in various settings in California including the Switzer Center , Torrance , San Bernardino Community Hospital , and Valley Child Guidance Clinic in Palmdale. In addition, she has special research interests in the use of chess with psychologically disturbed and autistic children. Her article, Applying ISTDP Techniques to Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy is published in the September, 2004 issue of the Ad Hoc Bulletin of Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.”

All well and true but if you really want to know more about ISTDP, I can't make a better recommendation than to refer you to ISTDP.com.

Here you will be introduced to the faculty of the Southern CA Society for ISTDP and can read up on the history and theory of this psychotherapy model.

I have aligned my professional life to ISTDP and its Southern California Society. Now that I've presented evidence to the effect that anything I can share with you professionally is better expressed by others, let me convince you that I have little else with which to interest or impress.

I was a chess player in my teens ( 13th best “female” player in the U.S.A. , Canadian Open Women's Champion, etc ). I was happily married to a Jungian analyst, Albert Kreinheder, Ph.D. who has been deceased for over 15-years now, and not so happily married to Tibor Weinberger, a chess champion (do we see an emerging pattern in my marital preferences?) Where the marriage failed, the friendship has endured, and he is successfully remarried for over 20-years to a wonderful woman, who shares step-mother status with me.

In the last 6-years I have taken up ballroom dancing and favor the West Coast Swing and the Viennese Waltz. I'd add pictures right here:

" pictures that are not available "

but the best are professionally taken and have copyrights. The studio won't return my phone call allowing me to reproduce them (above). The highlight of my dance career was the time that I was asked to teach Salsa at a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Party. I gave them Meringue lessons as well, which made everyone happy, including the band. By the way, I have an opening for a good dance partner with whom to practice and party, if you can recommend someone.

Now, with the professional and personal bios complete, may I invite you to make this a dialogue by contacting me at lcgchild@yahoo.com?
